Jake (Jacques) Poirier, 67, passed away in Palliative Care November 21, 2025.
Jake was born on May 22nd, 1958 in Montreal, Quebec. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for a time. He met and married his wife Deborah in 1988. Together they have a son Jamie who was born in 1991. Family meant everything to Jake. His second love was fishing. He loved being on the lake in the summer.
He was preceded in death by his mother Claudette Roy and father Camille Poirier. He is survived by his wife Deborah of 37 years, his son Jamie (Kait), two grandchildren Jake and Zeke and one brother Claude, as well as extended family which includes several Aunts, Uncles, cousins, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Per Jake’s request, there will be no funeral or service. A Memorial get-together for Jake will be held in his honor at a further date.
Special thanks to all the staff at the Neurological Institute of Montreal, the ICU and floor staff of Ville Marie Hospital, as well as the Palliative Care team of Temiscaming Hospital.
In remembrance of Jake, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
